Langkawi island is a well-known holiday destination for locals and tourists alike – offering a mix of rest and relaxation with adventure activities, Langkawi island, situated in Northern Malaysia might be a Majorca alternative within this region. Blessed with lush tropical nature, azure blue beaches and a healthy choice of local and international resorts and eateries, there’s not an excuse for anyone to not put this island in their travel list. Here are some of the things that our contributor photographer, Faliq Fahmie experienced over a weekend staying at the newly renovated Resorts World Langkawi.

Stay at Resorts World Langkawi

Formerly known as Awana Porto Malai Langkawi, this resort is located 4km from the hippest Cenang stretch of beaches on the island. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and other shopping spots on Cenang beach accessible via it’s shuttle 5 times a day, although Resorts World Langkawi is tucked just nicely away from its hustle and bustle.

There are 211 rooms in total with ocean views as one of the choices and other standard amenities provided by big named hotels. Guests will be treated to the Mediterranean-inspired architectural design and the scenic boardwalk that offers Al Fresco dining. Guests of this hotel can also choose to participate in some of the activities that will be arranged upon request. There are also other activities for guests to enjoy such as jet ski, fishing, banana boat ride and more. Resorts World Langkawi are happy to accommodate guests who are interested in their tours around the island.

Sunset Cruise with Tropical Charters

The resort can organize a cruise – the Sunset Cruise allows guests to sail at sunset daily for three-hours over a free flow of cocktails or mocktails, salt water Jacuzzi and BBQ feast of meat and seafood. The crew will prep your tantalizing dinner while you de-stress and soak on the net that is cast down so you get to soak in the Andaman Sea.

Eagle Feeding, Mangrove & Cave Tour at Kampung Kubang Badak

If soaking up the sun by the beach gets a bit much, guests could also opt for a geo bio trail tour that encompasses a trip to the mangrove and pinang limestone cave, a walk to an abandoned charcoal factory and topped with an eagle feeding session. Langkawi is well known for its mangrove and eco-tourism so it would be great to experience the KILIM Geoforest Park with a knowledgeable guide during their stay.
